Literacy and Numeracy in the GIBS Sister School Program

(Now)

Literacy and Numeracy is one of the highlights in the world of education in Indonesia today. This spotlight comes after the assessment results of the Programme International Student Assessment (PISA) since 2008 showed that Indonesia continues to be ranked low in literacy and numeracy compared to other countries.

Currently, HRP has access to six schools in the South Kalimantan area obtained through the GIBS Sister School program. The purpose of implementing the GIBS Sister School program aims to assist and foster schools that want to improve the quality of learning in the classroom through improving the quality of teacher teaching.

In this program, teachers from the five selected schools have the opportunity to take part in training provided by HAFECS on the Teaching Mastery Framework (TMF) which is used by all teachers at GIBS in teaching their students. This program is carried out with the hope of increasing the competence of students which will be seen through their literacy and numeracy competencies.
