HAFECS (Highly Functioning Education Consulting Service) again held the 2nd Mobilization Program Organisasi Penggerak (POP) on Monday, 23 May 2022, with the theme “Learning With a Sociolinguistic Approach to Support 21st Century Competency Improvement”. The POP 2 workshop was held in the Auditorium Room of the Nurhayati Building which took place at the Global Islamic Boarding School (GIBS) Junior High School and Senior High School and was held in a hybrid manner, attended by offline and online participants via zoom meetings. The event was attended by 36 PAUD/TK education teachers from Palangkaraya City, Banjarbaru City, Banjarmasin City, Banjar district, Barito Kuala district, Kapuas district, Upper Sungai Selatan, and Upper Sungai Tengah. The aim of this workshop is to improve 21st century skills through a sociolinguistic approach.

The POP workshop starts from 10.15 WITA to 15.00 WITA. The series of activities began with singing the national anthem, Indonesia Raya. Then it was followed by remarks from Mr. Danang Bagus Yudhistira, S.Si as the person in charge of the HAFECS Unit’s Driving Organization Program as the opening.

Furthermore, the material session was divided into two sessions, the first of which was delivered by Mr. Danang with material on Sociolinguistics: Semiotic Intelligence in Relation to Education. “Semiotics is capable of being a reliable cross-disciplinary analysis knife, and provides rich data results to conclude. There in lies the urgency of educational semiotics to dismantle the meanings contained in these sign networks, both those that appear consciously and subconsciously. Mr. Danang said when presenting the material in the first session.

Then, a question and answer session was opened for the participants regarding the previous material presentation session. The question and answer process went well, with several questioners attending both offline and virtual via zoom meetings.

After the presentation of the first session, a fifteen minute coffee break session was held and participants were invited to take the snacks that had been prepared. After that, it was followed by a presentation and socialization of the pretest and posttest from the HAFECS Research and Publications team regarding the pre-test and data from previous POP participants. This data presentation was delivered by Mrs. Syauqina, as the coordinator of the HAFECS Research and Publications (HRP) team. After the pretest and posttest socialization sessions were completed, the activity was continued with another presentation session regarding the continuation of the POP program and additional technical information, this session was delivered by Ms. Nur Kholipah, S.Pd as the coordinator of the Liaison Officer of the Mobilization Organization Program activities.

After the presentation session regarding the technical activities in the future, it was Ishoma time for the participants. Participants are allowed to freshen up, have lunch, and pray for the next one hour.

After the break was over, the next material session, which was also the last session of the day, began and was brought by Mr. Bayu Ramadhan S.Psi. M,Ed. Pak Bayu brought material on Teaching Communication Practices with a Sociolinguistic Approach. “It turns out that this way of speaking affects us, the way we speak affects our cognitive, our affective, and also our conative or behavior. So language does not directly influence our thinking.” After the material presentation session, a question and answer session was opened with Mr. Bayu, which was attended by participants, both from the Auditorium and the virtual Zoom room.

The end of workshop 2 was closed with administrative registration of the completeness of the participants and the last coffee break. (Runai)
